It was about time I drew my favourite lady again...after looking through loads of other impressions of her, something got to me....why is it that Medusa's snakes are almost always portrayed as green, when very very few dangerous snakes are green, many more are brown. I like to think they'd be dangerous. So I researched a little to see what kinds of snakes are prevelant in Greece - asps are apparently. So her head is covered in asps...hurrah!

I took reference from a picture of Vivien Leigh, as I was watching Gone with the Wind at the time, and she's all kinds of awesome.

This is so stunning! I love her almost soft expression as she leans on one of her previous victims. The snakes are done really well, and in the small view they simulate hair quite well. This is a really great and unique design for Medusa!

She is lovely! Its easy to tell when you're working with something you really love. I just can't get over how regal the finished look it partially to her expression and pose, and part from all those wonderful details. The crown really caught my eye for one. I do not have that kind of patience to work that detailed >.< You made it look easy

holy crap i just saw all the stone faces! Excellent touch :3

I always wondered the same thing. It makes a lot more sense for her hair to be of snakes that are local. I like her hair more in your version than the others I've seen. :)
